1. Our Commitment to Safety

RollUp is designed to help people and young people discover spontaneous social activities safely. We prioritize trust, accountability, and community well-being through invitation-only access and friend-of-friend connections.

2. Safety Principles

  • Authenticity: All users must use their real name, verified email, and current photo.
  • Accountability: Every user is connected through an invitation system, creating traceable connections.
  • Respect: Harassment, bullying, or discriminatory behavior will not be tolerated.
  • Transparency: Users always see mutual friends and connection paths for events.
  • Prevention: Safety education is built into onboarding and reinforced regularly.

3. Safe Event Participation

  • Know the Host: Only attend events hosted by friends or friends-of-friends.
  • Meet in Public First: When possible, attend events in public or well-lit spaces.
  • Bring a Friend: Use the buddy system when meeting new people.
  • Trust Your Instincts: If something feels unsafe, don't attend or leave immediately.
  • Report Concerns: Use in-app tools to flag unsafe events, users, or behaviors.

4. Hosting Responsibilities

Hosts are expected to:

  • Provide accurate event details (time, location, and expectations)
  • Respect age restrictions and local laws (no underage drinking or illegal activities)
  • Ensure event spaces are safe and not over capacity
  • Respond quickly to safety concerns raised by attendees
  • Follow RollUp's Host Safety Training if applicable

5. Prohibited Conduct

  • Harassment, threats, or bullying
  • Sharing false or misleading event information
  • Promoting illegal activities, including underage drinking or drug use
  • Sharing explicit, violent, or hateful content
  • Misuse of the platform to stalk, intimidate, or harm others

6. Reporting & Incident Response

If you feel unsafe or witness unsafe behavior:

  1. 1Report in the App – use the "Report Event" or "Report User" feature
  2. 2Contact Support – email safety@therollup.app
  3. 3Emergency Situations – call 911 or local emergency services first

Response Protocol:

  • Critical incidents (violence, threats, harassment): Immediate account suspension and escalation within 2 hours
  • Safety concerns (fake events, privacy violations): Investigation within 24 hours
  • Policy violations (spam, minor misconduct): Reviewed within 72 hours

7. Enforcement Actions

Depending on severity, RollUp may:

  • • Issue warnings or require safety education
  • • Temporarily suspend accounts
  • • Permanently ban violators
  • • Report to universities or law enforcement when appropriate

8. Safety Education

  • Onboarding Safety Module: Required for all new users (consent, respectful behavior, privacy protection, emergency resources)
  • Ongoing Updates: Monthly tips, seasonal reminders, and incident-based education
  • Host Certification: Advanced safety training for event organizers

9. Support Resources

RollUp provides:

  • • 24/7 access to community guidelines and reporting tools
  • • Privacy controls to limit visibility and sharing
